The Legend of Linda Skeens started after Linda became a viral meme over the summer. The mystery of who she was had become even more popular than the reaction to her dominant performance at the local fair's baking competition.

After turning down interviews with several news outlets Linda’s family convinced her to embrace her newfound fame. Wise County Local and fair attendee Keivin Holly said, "I'm happy for her. Someone who can bake that well deserves all the recognition that they can get."
