The Professional Wrestling world has been buzzing over the backstage drama that continues to unfold at All Elite Wrestling. In an interview with several wrestling journalists after AEW All Out PPV, CM Punk made many scathing comments about other wrestlers and the management of the company. While it is a known fact that Professional Wrestling is scripted entertainment, these comments made by Punk were not part of the show. It is widely known in the world of professional wrestling that CM Punk has been difficult for some people to work with and his issues with the companies he has worked for often became public. What is not common about this situation is the physical confrontation that took place after the media scrum that has resulted in suspensions and legal action. An expert on the subject of Professional Wrestling News and Drama, Jim Cornette has seen an incredible increase in viewership while covering the events. Cornette’s opinion is valued due to his legendary career in the professional wrestling business where he has done everything from performing as a manager to owning the highly respected Smoke Mountain Wrestling promotion. Fans of Cornette appreciate his no holds barred hot takes and his ability to explain his point of view based on his own experiences working at the highest levels in the wrestling business. Cornette has very creatively covered the backstage drama that resulted in an actual fight and legal issues between CM Punk, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega. While never having done business himself with Kenny Omega or The Young Bucks, Cornette has gained a large following by colorfully criticizing them on his Cult of Cornette Podcast for several years. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has accused Cornette of being an actor playing a role on his podcast and faking opinions for views. This would be in stark contrast to the opinion of those fans of Cornette who appreciate his content and consider it the most honest place for wrestling news from a veteran of the business who just tells it like it is. Whatever the case might be for the authenticity of his opinions, viewers tuned in to hear what he had to say about CM Punks' comments at the AEW All Out PPV media scrum. Cornette’s YouTube Channel which gains tens of thousands of views per video saw a sharp increase with his coverage of the CM Punk Lockerroom drama. His review of the incident has received nearly half a million views. While this situation will be soon in the rearview mirror for most wrestling fans it has proven a point that Jim Cornette and many other wrestling commentators have been making for years and that the UFC have been able to capitalize on, believable confrontation draws interest in combat sports.
